ENRICO NAN
CHIEF LEGAL OFFICER
Enrico Nan was born in 1953 in Pietra Ligure, where he founded the law firm NAN.
As a criminal defense lawyer, he has been involved in many nationally and internationally renowned trials. Throughout his career, he has dealt with economic, financial, banking, and tax crimes, as well as misdemeanors, extradition cases, and international arrest warrants. He served as a Member of Parliament in the XII, XIII, XIV, and XV Legislatures, appointed as the Secretary of the Presidency of the Chamber of Deputies, a member of the Justice Committee, the Finance Committee, and the inquiry committee on the environmental disaster of the “Acna Affair in Cengio (Savona),” Vice President of the Parliamentary Inquiry Committee on the “Telekom-Serbia Affair,” and a member of the XIV Permanent Parliamentary Committee “European Union Policies,” an organ of the Italian Senate dealing with all matters related to European politics and responsible for evaluating bills concerning European Union law. Enrico Nan also acted as the rapporteur for the Bill on “Usury,” proposed the establishment of an inquiry commission on the Argentine Bond issue, and participated in numerous state missions for the signing of memoranda of understanding regarding the accession of many Eastern European countries to the European Union.
Thanks to his proficiency in French and English, during the XII Legislature, as the Secretary of the Presidency of the Parliament at the Chamber of Deputies, he led the Italian institutional mission to Taiwan. He also led missions to the Baltic countries, Russia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, the former Yugoslavia, and the United States. Enrico Nan then expanded his international experience through forms of judicial cooperation between states and consultancy in Costa Rica, the Principality of Monaco, Eastern European countries, Middle Eastern and East African countries, particularly Tanzania and Kenya.
From 2009 to 2012, he was appointed Vice President of Cassa di Risparmio di Savona bank, and since 2013, he has been involved in publishing as Vice President of the Ligurian newspaper “Il Giornale.” In September 2022, the center-right chose him as a candidate for the overseas constituency of Africa-Asia-Oceania-Antarctica.
Enrico Nan currently resides in the United Arab Emirates, where he co-founded the law firm Italo-Emirati BaiardoNan&Partners Legal Consultants in Dubai.
